The Story Behind the Lens
Filmmaker. Photographer. Composer.
From BC's Interior.
Origin
Hi, I'm Paolo! I'm the photographer, cinematographer and composer behind Black Stallion Studios! I've always loved photography. From my very first shockproof camera to the drone and cinematography camera I use today, I've always wanted to take exceptional photos. I prefer to capture the moment than to apply complicated editing, and I believe composition is the key to a great shot.
Through the years, I've been attempting to capture the irregularities of our natural world. My photos don't always go as planned; but I like the effect of unpredictability. I am also always learning new skills to better my photography. I have neither the time nor the need for a studio, so I shoot wherever and whenever I can.

What I Do
From sweeping drone footage to intimate ground-level sequences — visual storytelling that moves people.
Landscape, wildlife, and nature photography captured with patience and an eye for extraordinary light.
Original cinematic scores and orchestral soundscapes that breathe life into visual work — and stand alone.
Drone operations revealing British Columbia from perspectives impossible to capture on foot.
The Journey
I've had a camera in my hands for as long as I can remember — from a shockproof, waterproof brick of a kids' camera to a compact point-and-shoot I carried everywhere. Capturing the world around me was never a hobby. It was just how I saw things.
Playing piano led naturally to composing — and composing led naturally to scoring my own films. The music and the image have been inseparable ever since.
A compact DJI drone opened up a whole new perspective. British Columbia was already stunning — from above, it's something else entirely.
A new cinema camera, a carefully chosen lens, a rock-solid tripod. The kit grew intentionally, and so did the work.
Every creative thread — film, music, photography — finally unified under one name. Launched on YouTube and Pexels shortly after, and haven't looked back.
New locations, new sounds, new stories. The work keeps moving forward — because the best frame is always the next one.
